Development finance data

The SDC attaches great importance to transparent and verifiable data collection and publication. It is engaged in various international initiatives for ensuring data quality and availability. In this way, the SDC ensures that the data are accessible globally, and that they can be verified and used for a range of analyses.

These International initiatives for safeguarding the quality and availability of data include reporting to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in accordance with the its standards, participating in the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) as well as supporting and publishing Open Government Data.

Statistical reports to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

The SDC reports Swiss development financing flows to the reporting system of the OECD's Development Assistance Committee (DAC). Regular reporting to the OECD ensures that development financing is transparent and internationally comparable. The data support the analysis and evaluation of global trends and progress in development cooperation.

The data made available by the SDC are publicly accessible on the OECD website:

International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI)

Over 1,000 institutions (donors, partner countries and civil society organisations) publish data in accordance with IATI standards. These institutions make available a wide range of current and comparable data and information, which are easily accessible through a central online register. The SDC has regularly published its data in accordance with IATI standards (files in XML format) since November 2013.

Open access to public data

The SDC has adopted practices recommended by the Masterplan Open Government Data 2024-2027 and publishes its data on the Swiss government's central portal for Open Government Data (OGD). The OGD master plan sets out strategies for improving access to and the use of publicly available data. By adopting these practices the SDC has committed to promoting transparency, efficiency and innovation in its activities. The implementation of the master plan will make public data more easily accessible and will promote cooperation between public institutions and civil society.
