Financial Advice Specialist Service

The Financial Advice Specialist Service is responsible for the overall coordination of the SDC’s financial processes and for advising senior management and the divisions on financial matters.

The Financial Advice Specialist Service provides advice and support to the SDC’s senior management and divisions with regard to strategic decisions on financial matters, and assists the director general in discussing financial issues on parliamentary committees.

It is responsible for the overall coordination of financial processes in the context of the SDC’s global budget, transfer credits and investment loans (budget, financial planning, annual financial statements, commitment appropriations, etc.), in line with guidelines issued by the Federal Finance Administration (FFA) and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

The Financial Advice Specialist Service is also the SDC’s coordination service for financial issues relating to other FDFA organisational units, including the Directorate for Resources (DR) and the General Secretariat (GS), and for organisational units outside the FDFA such as the FFA and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
