Specialist Service Communication Management and International Cooperation Forum Switzerland
The Specialist Service Communication Management is responsible for the SDC’s public information and communication activities in Switzerland and abroad, as well as for communication within the SDC. The annual International Cooperation Forum Switzerland (IC Forum) is part of the SDC’s public relations communication.
The Specialist Service Communication Management is responsible for the SDC’s communication. Its mandate is to provide the public with information and increase awareness of international cooperation issues. To ensure information policy is consistent, it works closely with Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) Communication, whose remit covers all aspects of Switzerland’s foreign policy.
The Specialist Service Communication Management has a range of responsibilities, including responding to enquiries from the public, communicating with partner organisations in Switzerland and abroad, answering press enquiries in close cooperation with FDFA Communication, developing the SDC’s communication tools at the editorial and visual level, and advising its staff on presentations and other communication-related topics. Media professionals should contact FDFA Communication directly with questions or enquiries.
As part of its mandate to provide information, the Specialist Service Communication Management runs the SDC’s website, operates its social media channels, produces a newsletter and podcast every two months, and publishes an annual report on Switzerland’s international cooperation together with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). It also supports the organisational units responsible for creating the various accountability reports.
The Specialist Service Communication Management also provides organisational and content-related resources for the annual IC Forum.
