Multilateral Affairs and Non-Governmental Organisations Division
The Multilateral Affairs and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) Division is responsible for coordinating engagement with multilateral organisations and Swiss NGOs.
Solving global challenges requires increased cooperation among states in multilateral bodies, respect for agreed norms and values, and the engagement of responsible United Nations (UN) organisations, international financial institutions and globally active NGOs. The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Switzerland’s International Cooperation Strategy form the framework for cooperation with selected UN organisations, international development banks, networks and NGOs.
The Multilateral Affairs and NGO Division is the SDC’s competence centre for multilateral development cooperation and humanitarian aid, as well as for engagement with globally active Swiss NGOs. Its key responsibilities include the strategic management and administration of core contributions to UN organisations, international financial institutions, networks and NGOs; institutional dialogue with priority partner organisations; engagement in multilateral and international forums; the promotion of good governance and effectiveness in global humanitarian aid; and an ongoing commitment to international humanitarian law.
